a small kannon

basically i don't have someone's work at home that much ,there are some.
--------------------------------------

i used to be waitressing at a small, old-fashioned koryouriya run by an elderly couple early 2000s .

the "mama" had a very strong personality , like some could accept and loved her forever , some never.

the "master" was a basically calm, letting "mama" say whatever she wanted in front of regular customers .

but during the years I worked there ,i could get that "mama" had a big respect to "master"in fact .
and "master" loved her so deeply.

it was really trouble working under the "mama"till getting used to ,but listening to their stories of there good old days relating the place (koryouriya) was really really valuable.

the food they served was authentic.i believe my palate has become more refined thanks to them.

"master"had his own philosophy and i loved hearing what he talked to his favorite old regular customers . sometimes when "mama" often went strolling neighbors  he would begin talking  those philosophical things to me but soon he  got back to be quiet  because he knew "mama" got jealous about it.

there were some noh masks desplaying on the wall  which  the "master" curved himself . he said that was just a hobby ,it was hard to believe it was made as a hobby. and there were also tiny tiny beautiful wooden carved kannnons which i liked very much and never said so.

"master" had been using oxygen while working, daily for years.
one day his condition got unwell,  and suddenly passed away.

"mama"tried to dispose all works of "master" based on someone's teachings . maybe she thought she couldn't carry everything with her a rest of her life.  and they had no kids.

i meant to respect her decision , but i couldn't stand just watching the kannnons about to be thrown away. and i asked to her not to.

and i still have them.

this is my first time to sketch them,  the real face is much thinner.

( the two weird objects in front are potteries i got at some stores selling items made by people at a facility for people with disabilities. they look comfortable being with the kannnons.)
